Original Interruptive oil paintings by Artist Pacifico Palumbo,
inspired by the 1976 Maysle's Brothers cult movie "Grey Gardens"

From it's original conception in 1975, as a documentary produced by the Masley Brothers - directed by Muffie Myers, to the Broadway play at the Walter Kerr Theatre that features Christine Ebersol and Mary Louise Wilson, and now to the Movie starring Jessica Lang and Drew Barrymore - directed by Michael Sucsy, "Grey Gardens", featuring the life of Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter Little Edith Beale, has continued to entertain audiences for over three and a half decades.

Inspired by the original documentary, artist Pacifico Palumbo brings to life a series of paintings that capture the true essence and many moods of this classic cult film.

It has been described variously as a Tennessee Williams style exploration of Big Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter Little Edie Beale - invitation to mockery or a metaphor for a society consumed by its romance of the past. Grey Gardens has roused passions for over thirty years, achieving iconic status.

At a recent showing of the paintings and the cult movie at the Famous Art Deco Laches Theatre in Brattleboro Vermont, Producer Muffie Myers commented that "Artist Pacifico Palumbo captures the true essence of the Edies in these paintings".

They have also been shown at the Reed Center for the Arts complex in Deerfield, Massachusetts.
